Hot Air, a New Skill and a Messy Face

The past week has been interesting. We started off the week with being bundled up inside the house and enjoying the pleasant temperature outside.
Then a heat wave came! We just finished the last day temperatures in the upper 90s and all I can say is that I am thankful for our portable ac unit! It made life heavenly for us! With such hot weather outside, there is but one thing to do outside - play in the water!

Jorgen loves water but was a little hesitant with the sprinkler.

Toothy grin!
Playing at the water table with her bucket - trying to drink the dirty water!
Shelley often does this squinty-eyed smile when she's outside. I think it's soo cute!
And I'm not sure what to do about this, Shelley points with her middle finger! We need to fix this before it becomes a problem and is offensive:).
Jorgen was such a busy boy, he loved taking water over to the sand and making fun creations.
We love water!

Jorgen learned something new this week - How to spell his own name! He loves to sing so I made up a song to help him remember (J-O-R-G-E-N, that's my name! Jorgen!!! Sung to a made up tune). He also loves eating letter cookies so I make them a part of Mommy School and he learns the letters and their sounds and then gets to eat them!
Shelley is loving all sorts of new veggies! Recently she's added pureed beets, zucchini, and asparagus to her list of yummy vegetables that she enjoys. Beets make for an interesting diaper later on! But hey, we love any shade of pink, even in her diaper!
