One hundred dollars saved is one hundred dollars earned!
Today we went over to another courtyard to play and both Justin and I assumed the other had keys to our apartment. We have not given any friends a spare key or thought of a back up plan in case we ever forgot or lost of keys. Well, either one of those plans would have come in handy today!
As we were talking about heading home, I asked Justin for the keys and he said he thought I brought them...oops! Because it was after hours, it was going to cost us $100 to have student housing come and open up our apartment! We are way too cheap to pay that much! There was only one window open, the tiny bathroom window, and so Justin climbed on top of the overhang above the door but realized that it was going to be very dangerous (it already was dangerous climbing up there in the first place!) and might not ever work. As he was standing on top of the overhang, one of the construction workers (they are building staff/faculty housing across the street from us) who was heading home for the day, saw Justin and asked what he was doing. He said he had a ladder! HOORAY! Justin helped him bring over the ladder and was able to get into our apartment without any injuries. Thank heavens for that construction worker!! He saved us $100!!! Just a little tender mercy with which we were blessed. And thanks to a friend who had her iphone handy to capture this moment :)

Wow! How awesome that there was a ladder so close! This post is awesome :) I shouldn't admit to how many times I've had to "break in" to apts :)
Thank heavens for tender mercies!!! When I was there I think Justin and I mentioned it might not be too hard to get locked out!!
