The firemen showed the kids what they looked like when they fight fires. I never thought about it but they look kind of scary to young kids. They made sure that the kids knew what they were wearing and why so it was definitely helpful to make kids unafraid of them. I guess it happens a lot when kids are afraid of this scary looking man (or woman to be politically correct) comes in to rescue them in a fire because they look so scary.
Lucky for us, we finished our tour and while we were saying bye to the firemen, they got called out to fight a fire. GO FIREFIGHTERS! What would we do without them?!?
After the tour, we went to the park next door and had so much fun playing in the water and on the playground. A great morning! Jorgen didn't even make a peep when he went down for his nap - my boy was tuckered out;)

It looks like it was so much fun. We had to take Chad into the city so we couldn't make it;( Jorgen looks like he had the time of his life.
I remember going to the firestation for one of my brothers birthdays once. Just an idea.
Your kids are seriously too cute! I love the many faces of Jorgen. How fun!
what a fun day - so much to do and see!
I love it! That was a blast! Firefighter Bryan said to try the one in downtown RWC because they have tons of trucks and all the fun ladders too. Maybe next time we'll try that!

Great day and fun event. I bet Jorgen loved it and playing in the water, life doesn't get any better for an almost two year old! I remember my Mom had the firemen come to our house because my brother and one of his friends went through a stage of playing with matches. That made a big impression when they pulled up in front of the house in their truck, came to the door and asked to talk to Michael Henderson! As I recall he quit the matches thing.
