Texas State Fair

We went to the Texas State Fair the last weekend it was opened and had so much fun.

There was a railroad museum (we were too cheap to go inside but had fun looking at the trains visible to us frugal folks).
We were pleasantly surprised to meet Elsie's namesake, Elsie the Cow. When we told my Grandma (My Mom's mother) that we were going to name our baby girl, Elsie, she said, "Oh No, not Elsie the cow!" She, of course, loves the name now that her great grandchild is named Elsie. I cannot help but laugh when I think that we actually got to meet Elsie the Cow! Elsie is sure to dress up as Elsie the Cow one year for Halloween.

We saw a dog show.
We went to the petting zoo.

Jorgen is the best big brother. He always takes such great care of his sisters. They are so lucky to have him!

What???
It looks like a llama that was unsuccessfully shaved like a poodle.
Taking it easy...
Jorgen participated in his first ever PEEWEE STAMPEDE! It was a thrill to watch our little man come out of the gate and ride his stick horse and jump around as fast as he could. Way to go Jorgen.

High fives all around!

The lone cowboy.Jorgen makes friends wherever he goes. He is such a friendly, outgoing little guy. Oh how we adore him.

We saw a pirate diving act.

Arrgghh Matey!

Jorgen with his hands waving high on his roller coaster ride.
The highlight for both of them was cotton candy.
They must take after their mother.
As we left the fair grounds we spotten Big Tex and had to snap a picture.

Until next year...
