Our little man, Jorgen, didn't watch TV until he was a year old. I was hoping to have the rule with Shelley. However, the other night I was just curious to see what she would do if she watched Baby Einstein. I thought maybe it would be good for her eye stimulation and Jorgen loved it when he started watching it (and still does). So, I told them we were going to have a picnic and watch a show.
Jorgen was totally thrilled!
This picture has to be my favorite. They look so much alike. I noticed that Jorgen's shirt says Stanford and Shelley's shirt says 'dream'...We are living the Stanford dream....but I don't know if the 'Stanford Dream' consists of plopping your kids in front on the tube like I did tonight;)
So that was Shelley's first time watching TV and I do not think I want her second time to be any time soon. However, I am going to ask her ophthalmologist to see if Baby Einstein is good stimulation for her visual acuity. Wouldn't that be funny if he encouraged TV watching!
A Game
The following are pictures of Jorgen entertaining Shelley at the table. Jorgen plays this little game with her on a daily basis. He will go on one side of her seat and pop up and say 'peek-a-boo' and then run around to the other side and do the same thing. He does this over and over again and Shelley thinks it is so funny! He is such a good little entertainer.
Our Little Newsie
A dear friend gave Shelley the cutest little hat for Christmas! Jorgen and I came home to a little newsie girl today - Justin had changed Shelley and accessorized her head with the new hat. The first thing Jorgen said was, "Sheyees a newsie!". I think it's so funny that he even knows what that is. We took more pictures of her with her hat on today that I will post later. She is such a doll!
Kids say the darndest things
Jorgen is so funny these days. The other day he looked at me and said, "You have a basketball on you." I asked him where and he pointed to one of my moles. So just to be sure he thought my moles were called basketballs, I asked him where else he saw them. So he pointed to a few others and then said, "When I grow up I get some on me too."

those tv pictures are hilarious! I love it! I like the hat too - it's cute! and..ty doesn't call my moles anything, he just tries to pick them off!
Love those pictures! Talk about mesmerized. I do think that Stanford could use them for an ad campaign....but of course it would be them listening to Dr. Best Professor in the world! Love to you all!
jorgen is such a cutie entertaining his sweet little sister - and she obviously loves him to be entertaining. what a cute family!
you realize she will probably end up with a hat fetish and she is getting an earlier start than i did (and you know how many i have!) she looks adorable in her little 'newsie' hat!
Darla is the same way about the TV. I try to only use Baby Einstein when I'm making dinner and she is hanging on my legs. Life saver :)
Love the pictures..ok the tv is hilarious. I loved the dazed look. And peekaboo, so fun!! that's why 2 is easier than 1...but 4...that's WAY too much. hahahahaha!!
I have basketballs too!!
Rykel says HI!!! she loves to see pictures of Jorgen & SELLY (hee ehee)
Oh how I wish we lived close so we could get our cuties together; I think it's so cute how JOrgen loves playing with Shelley! What a cute game! The hat is adorable; I am excited to see more pictures of her in the hat! I think it's so funny how much they loved watching the show! I actually tried turning on Angela's first show (Baby Einsteins) last week for the first time (it's fun having babies so close because our life events correlate so much!) Anyways, Angela couldn't care less about it...looked at it for min. and then crawled away to play with her toys...Carolyn loved it, though...I won't be turning it on again for awhile :)
I beg Chars to watch little einstein in the car while I'm at the girls riding lessons (the ONE time I let her out of the car she tried eating horse poop!)...but she'll have nothing to do with TV or movies. Then on the other hand Glory tells time but what shows are on "boomerang". "hey mom, dad should be home real soon cause flinstones just ended"!! Couldn't they both just be somewhere in between! :)
your kids are sooooo cute! I hope you move to Dallas so we can see them more....and you guys too! ;)
