At Shelley's appointment today, Dr. Nyong'o let me see through two different clouded lenses that typify Shelley's cataract lenses. They were so blurry, with the left one so much more blurry than the right! I'm so glad she can now see! We will be patching her good eye for two hours each day to strengthen her weaker eye. A few minutes ago I was holding Shelley and we had our first 'alone time';) since she got her contact and it was so cute because she just stared at me for five minutes straight! She didn't move much, just looked at me while I spoke to her. I wondered if she was seeing me clearly for the first time and was just taking it all in. I wish I knew what she was thinking. Her world just got clearer and I am forever grateful to the doctors for finding and fixing this.

And isn't she cute now with her new munching toys...her toes!

i am so glad you recorded your thoughts and feelings and her reaction to your alone time. that is priceless!

i think this child is obviously related to emberD! first fingers and now toes. all things must be tasted!

Yay! I'm glad it is still going well. Your kids are too cute for words. I'm really happy that your baby has a whole new world opened to her. Did you notice her bumping into things before or anything like that?

wish I was that flexible and could eat my toes...although I don't think that would be very yummy...hmmm! That's awesome, what a fun bonding moment together.

A very special moment in time that you will remember always and always! Just today I was thinking and trying to imagine what is was like for Shelley to see before and after....now at least I have a better idea.
