Bird Feeders and Ninjas

I was reminded of some funny childhood memories the other day. Jorgen was taking off a long-sleeved shirt with a particularly small head hold (small for huge Hansen heads at least) and it got stuck around his eyes. I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and turn it into a costume. What can you make with a long sleeved shirt, you might ask? ... A super cool ninja, of course! I don't know if everyone did this or if it was just a wacky creation of my super imaginative brother, Jase, but I used to love making ninja shirts.

Jorgen thought it was pretty funny! I think this is his first exposure to ninjas.
Justin thinks his ninja mask looks more like an ewok in this picture. He was trying to mimic his cousin, Ember, who was an ewok for Halloween.
And just a random note, we made a bird feeder out of these harmone-induced, huge pine cones (ok, not harmone-induced, but really, the pine cones here are HUGE). We've had fun watching birds attack it when we look out our kitchen window. If you've never made one , they are easy and kids love to do it. Find a pine cone, cover it with peanut butter, and then roll it in bird seed. Easy!

Great idea. I have a box of huge California pine cones in my garage...I brought them home from Sacramento. I will have to make birdfeeders with the kids!

One more thought. Justin used to get his head stuck in a shirt but he would usually panic...not play ninja!

i wish this was MY idea. no, everything neat that we do is usually an idea from someone else. in this case, it was at a bizkids play date. i didn't even have to bring my own supplies. that just goes to show you how crafy i actually am:)
