Surgery Day Again

This morning Shelley went in for surgery to take out her cataract in her right eye. Everything was much easier this time around. It helped knowing what to expect and knowing the doctors really well. Our little Shelley Eliah is such a sweet little girl. She was laughing and jabbering at us and the nurses and doctors despite not being able to eat anything. She was so so happy!

You can't really tell, but in this picture she is jumping up and down while she was laughing at Justin. It was so sweet! She is such an easy going and happy little sweetheart!
This is right before they put in the last drops to dilate her eyes. She was still just bouncing around. Right after we put her in her gown, she fell asleep in my arms and then they took her away. That part is always the hardest. Especially because this time I seemed as though the nurse had never held a baby before. But despite feeling uncomfortable with the operating nurse who took her away, I knew she was in good hands with both her ophthalmologist and her anesthesiologist. I was so glad Justin was there because after they took her I lost the strength I'd been holding onto but he reminded me that everything was going to be alright and that we needed to have faith.
Everything went very smoothly! Before we got to see Shelley, Dr. Nyong'o came and told us that the surgery went very well and that he also checked her left eye and he is very happy with how it has healed and how well it's refracting. So we are hoping and praying that her right eye does as well as her left. It's amazing what they can do these days. We feel so blessed! When Shelley came out of anesthesia last time, it was so horrible, she just cried and screamed for half an hour not being able to be comforted in any way. This time was much different. She hardly made a sound and just slept and ate a little. I was bracing myself for the half an hour of sadness but didn't need to...they gave her Versed before they took her back and I think that made it so she came out of the anesthesia more drousily or something because it was like night and day compared to last time.
We are so proud to be your parents, Shelley, and feel so blessed to have you in our family. You are so full of light and love!

Вы для pre и вывесьте изображения деятельности! Она действительно поистине такой драгоценный маленький дух! Она также очень благословлена для того чтобы иметь такой верный доверять и любящих родителей и брата!

Oгорченно я забыл сделать его в русском!

glad to hear it went well! And, that mask looks familiar... =) But honestly, do they really think that making it look like a dragon, or a fish or something will change the fact that you're putting something foreign on their face? =)
