It's my sweet Mother's birthday today! To celebrate, Jorgen and I made her a cake! Now, if you know my Mom, you know she is allergic to chocolate and if you look at the spatula Jorgen is licking you'll notice that it has brown batter on it. I know, so thoughtful of me to make my mom a cake that she can't eat! The thing is, she couldn't eat it anyway! She is serving a mission in Russia with my dear Dad! So since we can't be with her physically on her birthday, we decided to make her a cake and celebrate here in her behalf. I made the cake and then I let her blow out the candles through ichat (webcam). It was fun! I miss my Mom! She is my hero and such an inspiration to me!
Jorgen going crazy licking the batter off. He was in heaven because this was the second time he's had batter like this - I know, I've deprived my child!

He can fit the whole spatula in his mouth! Funny guy!

The cake - The mini marshmallows spell out TUTU (her name to my children)
I have a lot to learn in the baking department ... who uses marshmallows on a birthday cake? Well, me:D

Shelley and I singing 'Happy Birthday' to my mom on the computer.

My mom blowing out the candles;)

Happy Birthday once again, Mom! Hope you had a wonderful day! We miss and love you so very much!

i am amazed at how well the ichat & cake photo went! thanks for being so thoughtful and creative - such a wonderful daughter - and make all the chocolate ones you want now...in two years it'll be angel food and strawberries!
That is so cute bren. I loved that idea. I wish i would have thought of something creative like that to do. You are so thoughtful.
That's funny. Good job bren. It's Erik's moms birthday today too! Random. How did the cake taste...since you'll be the one eating it! :)
Happy Birthday! This post made me laugh because I remember a similar party for your dad before the days of Ichat when all we had was a cardboard cutout and a blowdryer. hahahaha
