A very generous and thoughtful friend of ours left town for the weekend and let us pick up their week's portion of vegetables and fruits from Two Small Farms (a local CSA farm). I so badly want to participate in this next year. It is such a good deal for such wonderfully tasty and organic veggies! Thanks, Candice, for thinking of us! I can't wait to use all the yummy veggies and try the fun recipes they gave in the accompanying newsletter. Check the links above to see if there is a CSA farm near you! Every year I say that I am going to do a CSA farm and then I don't get signed up in time. Remind me next year to do it early! There are a couple around here. I am going to try and hit the farmers' market more often this summer and fall. We will have to go together if you have time when you come in August.
Never heard of a CSA farm but it looks like it beats a back yard garden which I did in the past but not anymore.
I want to do this so bad! A lady in the ward gave me a basket from her garden and we ate it up so quick. Have you ever had garden fresh beets..they are the best. She gave us squash and white potatoes too. But there is only one by us and it is 30 min away. Those radishes look good...I grew up on those!
Gardens are the best. New potatoes, juicy beets, peppers, cucs, etc. Every day a greens day. Grampa loves to fish so we have frozen trout in our freezer. How is that for living off the land!!
